Winter Wonderland at PIR

Recognized throughout the Pacific Northwest as the “Largest Holiday Light Show West of the Mississippi”, the 25th annual Safeway Winter Wonderland powered by Advantis Credit Union, will grab your attention with glimmers and glows around every corner.

Since 1993, a journey through Winter Wonderland has become a Holiday tradition for many families, friends, and social organizations to celebrate the spirit of the holiday season.

Spectators can enjoy the most spectacular drive-through light show in the region, viewing over 250 colorful light set pieces and many fully animated scenes from the comfort of their own vehicle.

Over two million visitors have taken the Winter Wonderland journey since its origin. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Sunshine Division.

Peacock Lane

Each house in this quaint southeast neighborhood has been decorating for Christmas for decades. Mostly Tudors, the houses are adorned with not only beautiful sparkling lights, but also nativity scenes, rotating Christmas trees and stunningly life-like replicas of Santa and Frosty.

Ainsworth House & Gardens

A historic property currently sitting on over two acres of lush gardens. Peaceful, elegant and even whimsical in places, Ainsworth House has hosted Ceremonies, Celebrations and other Family Gatherings for many years. With an experienced staff of event planners, an extensive catalog of preferred vendors, and a tradition of offering boutique quality at reasonable prices, we hope you will fall in love with the venue as much as we have. Offering events all year round, but only ever one event at a time, the 3,000 square foot reception facility, comprising Conservatory, Garden Room and Fireside Room, beautifully compliments the outdoor patio and woodland area, the magnificent Pine Tree Garden and formal main drive. This means we are one of Portland’s foremost full-service wedding and event venues who can offer outdoor and well as indoor facilities.

Punch Bowl Social

Corporate Parties, Buy Outs, and Events.

All work and no play makes Jack much less productive. Treat yourself and your compatriots to an exclusively good time. We do birthday parties too.

Postlewait’s

Amongst a working farm of 80 acres containing orchards and vineyards lays a beautifully landscaped park. The natural beauty of the Cascade Mountains while under old growth oak trees will make a perfect setting for a memorable event.

Abernethy Center

With two stunning romantic garden sites, an elegant ballroom, and the classic Abernethy Chapel we’ve created beautiful and distinct settings for your celebration. We’ve mastered the art of the event along with all of the service and details that go into making that event a success. Abernethy Center was established in 2001 with the opening of the ballroom, creating an elegant indoor space that is highly adaptable for your ceremony or reception. With the continued interest from the community, it was evident that there was also demand for outdoor wedding and event space. Abigail’s Garden, consisting of 5 acres of beautiful gardens and natural areas nestled along Abernethy Creek, opened in the spring of 2002. It immediately became one of the most sought after venues for wedding, corporate and social events in the Portland area.

Leach Botanical Gardens

Portland’s botanical and cultural garden, a treasure connecting people, place and plants through discovery and delight. A botanical garden that highlights northwest native plants and features other unique collections including a modern physic garden, alpine house and fen.
A horticultural resource for both casual and serious gardeners.
A hands-on laboratory for environmental education that encourages engagement with the physical sciences.
A model and demonstration site of environmental sustainability.
An historic site celebrating John & Lilla Leach and their contributions to Pacific Northwest botany and to the southeast Portland
community.
A regional destination.
A place of beauty, respite, and reflection.
A special place for families to gather and create memories.

Garagiste & Jan-Marc Cellars

Wine is food.

There are no favorites. What is coming to the table dictates our bottle of the moment.

Bright, crisp whites to unctuous barrel-fermented Chardonnay, pretty Pinot Noir to massive Zinfandel; it’s good to have choices in the house.

These wines express our own backyard. Inspired winemaking in Cascadia with Columbia Gorge and Willamette Valley grapes. Unfined and unfiltered.

Trisaetum

In early 2006, James Frey, with help from noted winemaker Josh Bergstrom, began work on the design of Trisaetum’s winery. From the outset, the goal was to construct a facility that allows a winemaker to blend old world tradition and new world innovation.

After several months and nine drafts, a floor plan and design philosophy were eventually turned into the 13,000 square foot facility that exists today. James is fortunate to have at his disposal a wide array of tools to craft Trisaetum’s distinctive Pinot Noir and Riesling.

Hawks View Cellar

Known for our sweeping landscape and stellar views of Mount Hood, as well as our award-winning collection of wines, Hawks View Cellars is a top destination for locals and visitors to the region alike.

Founded by Jack Kemp, his wife Willie and their son A.J. in 2007, and purchased by the Ponte Family of Temecula, California in 2017, Hawks View produces Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir from our sustainably-farmed vineyards located in the Chehalem Mountains. Our Tasting Room, patio and sprawling lawn have served as a meeting place for locals to gather, connect and celebrate.

Solena

After successful careers in the Oregon wine industry, the husband and wife team of Laurent Montalieu and Danielle Andrus Montalieu purchased an 80-acre estate to commemorate their marriage in 2000. In May 2002, they launched Soléna by bottling their first vintage of Domaine Danielle Laurent Pinot Noir and, shortly thereafter, opening a tasting room in Carlton. Soléna is the combination of the Spanish and French words Solana and Soleil, celebrating the sun and the moon, and the name that Laurent and Danielle gave to their daughter.

Soléna Estate began as a way to explore winemaking with other varietals grown in neighboring appellations while the family’s young Domaine Danielle Laurent vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton District matured. In May 2007, Danielle and Laurent added the spectacular 100-acre Hyland Vineyard in the McMinnville AVA to their estate vineyard holdings. Today, Laurent and Danielle are producing Pinot Noir from their estate vineyards as well as Pinot Gris, Merlot, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Late Harvest Riesling from select sites throughout Oregon and Washington.

Stoller

All of our wine is made exclusively from our estate vineyard. We pick, process, ferment and age each individual section of fruit separately before blending. Our gravity flow technology offers a gentler approach to transferring the wine from tank to barrel, as well as greatly reduces the amount of energy required for wine production.

Our winery produces wines that are elegant, showing ripe red to darker fruits as well as earthy qualities. Our grape varieties, age of the vine, location, and density bring an amazing diversity of flavors to our wines. They are beautifully textured and layered with fine, silky tannins. Vintage can change the expression of our wines, but never overpower their character.

Coalition Brewing

Coalition Brewing is a10-barrel brewery and tasting room. Our hand crafted ales reflect traditional brewing techniques and Northwest innovation. We strive to provide our patrons with balanced, unique, and highly drinkable beers.

In addition to our house ales, we regularly feature new beers through our Coalator Program. Home brewers are selected from the community to brew their own unique creations. We reserve a specialty tap at the pub to showcase each Coalator.

Our tasting room, open to the public every weekend, features Coalition favorites alongside unique one off beers, and offers our patrons a first hand look at our production facility. Come enjoy a pint right from the source every weekend, and join us for regular special events!

Enso Winery

ENSO is an urban winery that hand crafts authentic old-world style wines that express both the moment they were created…as well as the moment they’re enjoyed.

ENSO Winery began as a collaborative effort between passionate winemakers and grew into Ryan Sharp’s urban winery. Ryan began as a winery grunt at Arcane Cellars on the banks of the Willamette River.

While Ryan fell more in love with winemaking, he also dreamed of leaving the valley to make wine in Portland, where he has resided since 2008.

After assisting John Grochau a few times, he fell in love with the idea of an urban winery. A place in the city, in a neighborhood, a local watering hole, a place to meet friends, and a place to produce world-class wine.

Durant Vineyards

First and foremost the Durant Family are viticulturists who remain pure to the block. Always vineyard designate—never blended—our wines reflect the careful farming and craftsmanship of each winemaker that is paired with certain sites among our hillside vineyards.

As founders in the Oregon wine industry, we are proudest of the forty years we’ve spent producing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris fruit for some of the best wineries in Oregon. We aim to reflect this tradition and quality in Durant Vineyards wines

Willamette Valley Vineyards

Founder, Jim Bernau, purchased the Estate site in 1983 and cleared away the old pioneer plum orchard hidden in scotch broom and blackberry vines. He planted Pinot Noir (Pommard and Wadenswil clones), Chardonnay (Dijon and Espiguette) and Pinot Gris. In the beginning he hand watered the vines with thousands of feet of hose.

Chalice Farms

At Chalice Farms, we take great care to ensure that we are consistently providing high-quality medicine that is safe for our patients. For over a decade we have been continuously perfecting our grow methods, and have been able to deliver some of the highest quality medicine in Oregon.

At Chalice Farms, we have created a proprietary curing method that we call “The Chalice Cure.” It is a specialized curing method in which we are able to create a much sweeter/smoother medicine for those who inhale their medication. This method also brings out a higher level of essential oils. Though it does take a special environment and requires a lot more time than standard curing methods, at Chalice, we believe in only providing the highest quality products to our patients.

It contains the Oregon Convention Center, Oregon’s largest shopping mall, the Veterans Memorial Coliseum and the Moda Center. It plays host to sporting events, parades, community marathons and concerts. Everything is a short light rail or streetcar stop away, including many fine hotels, restaurants and shops.

You’ll see vigorous growth the moment you arrive. Cranes top the skyline, and numerous development projects – some commercial, some residential, plus new public plazas and green spaces – are rapidly changing the neighborhood’s vibe to one that’s both inviting and urbane.

Beast

Naomi Pomeroy was born and raised in Corvallis, Oregon. She spent her childhood hanging around the stove and in backyard gardens with her mother, who spent her early years in Rouen, France, and with grandmother Vivian, who hailed from New Orleans.
